The Kooples, a new label, is the latest entrant to the United States market from a family of fashion entrepreneurs. . . . Alexandre, 37, designs the men’s wear, while Lauren, 36, creates the women’s. Raphael, 26, handles branding and imagery. Raised in Toulouse, France, the trio now lives on the same Right Bank street in Paris (Alexandre and Lauren on the same floor of one building), and bear a striking resemblance to one another, favoring an androgynous silhouette, buttons embossed with skulls and crossbones and Savile Row tailoring. Their ad campaign, ubiquitous in Europe and soon to blanket the United States, features real-life couples (some same-sex) ages 20 to 65 and photographed on Paris’s Rue Saint-HonorĂ© and London’s Brick Lane and in the meatpacking district of New York.
